LJ’s Story: Starting in the 3rd grade at MacMillan International Baccalaureate Academy, LJ – now CEO and Founder of Better Than Average (BTA) – was already helping classmates after school. Twelve years in magnet schools taught him something most founders learn the hard way: talent without support goes nowhere. By eleventh grade at Brewbaker Technology Magnet High School, years of informal tutoring had turned into a calling. LJ opened Better Than Average (BTA) on a simple belief: students do their best work when they’re known, challenged, and believed in – not just drilled.
